If you were the supreme ruler of the world, would you rule benevolently or would you take some liberties?

The only thing I would do is abolish money completely and order that nothing can be put forth which is not in harmony with nature. Life ends quickly enough and anything which speeds it along is abominable and illegal.

Then I would sit back and see it worked. If not I would take full responsibility for its failure and happily resign and honorably accepting my consequences.

I like to think that I would be quite benevolent.... I would of course make sure that I never did without, but I would try to make sure all my subjects were doing well (just less well then me).  I wouldn't force my subjects to starve so that I could feast...... I would simply have a larger feast then them.

Though I would probably have to relocate some people, I would try to do so in a way that resulted in the benefit of the relocated parties.  I would need to do this because I would require an island of pure science and discovery.  Some place relatively remote that could be a paradise for the brilliant (I would not be smart enough to live there, but I would visit a lot).  This would be the place where geniuses lived outside of political pressure, mass whims, and the monetary system.  Their needs would be well provided for as their discoveries profits would be reinvested in them (after my small percentage is taken).  It would be a place where the focus was the advancement of the human race.... and it would be expected only to continually create new things to increase the standard of living for the rest of us.  It would also be a voluntary place.... geniuses are not forced into seclusion or anything.

I would also require an island for the prison populations.  No need to keep them in a pen, when we can just drop them off someplace and keep an eye on them via sattellite.  Sort of like Australia was originally, except without the nice weather.  Think colder climates.... maybe iceland (though I like iceland so it would be a hard sacrifice to make).

I am sure after a decade or so I would start to get evil and name myself a god.... then smite all that oppose me with all the good technology I kept for myself over the years.  This wouldn't be part of my plan, but it probably would happen.  I might even be driven mad with power and believe I am a god.  That could be a lot of fun.  I could wear a helmet and carry around a hammer and call myself thor..... awesome!

With authority like that, regardless of who you are, you are going to take liberties. Also, no one person is capable of that kind of responsibility.

If I was the supreme ruler, however, I would do my best to rule benevolently. Otherwise, it wouldn't be hard for the entire world to over-throw one dude.

Probably benevolently because if you're a evil ruler people will rebel against you. It cost money and resources to fight off the rebellions. Eventually they'll over throw, excecute you mercilessly; however, If you rule those people benevolently, you can basically live in peace and some of those people will worship you like a god.

I'd be as benevolent as I could be, since I don't want my subjects rebelling.  

I'm human, so I'd take some liberties:

- Supply me with desserts and other yummy foods.

- Make sure I have my own stash of rum and Coke (not always drunk together).

- Give me a pleasure island where I can relax and do whatever I so choose.

- Don't make me pay for anything.

- Delegate, so I have the power without responsibility.

I would have lavish parties where there was music, dance, poetry, arts, great food great wines................great clothes...............My kingdom would be happy and creative and I would invite all the Great thinkers and minds of the world :)))))))))))))))))))))

I would move everything somewhere new and watch it unfold as it would unfold without getting involved. I believe the universe is perfect.
