If you were to fall ten stories into say, a lake or some other body of water, what would happen to you?

depends on you position .....go head first...

You might well break a few bones, as the water may not be able to move out of the way in time, and so act like a semi-solid object. You might also sustain some internal injuries such as ruptured spleen, which might make you bleed to death.
