Assuming you already know the basics (generalities of anatomy). What region of the body (head and neck, dorso, upper member, lower member, thorax, abdomen, pelvis) would you start with? And why?

  1. Well Im just starting Med school and the first thing I studied was the bones of the cranium(head) and then the bones of arm , the muscles and braquial plex

now we are going to start with the legs... Cool!

Oh I forgot to say we studied everything about hands 2 . It was the hardest thing

  2. You'd start with whatever the instructor told you the first subject was.  ;-)

Seriously, med school anatomy goes along with the dissection schedule most of the time.  They usually start with musculoskeletal--arms, legs, hands, feet and so forth--and then go to the thorax, abdomen, etc.  The tendency is to start with the large stuff and the peripheral stuff and work inward and towards more detail as you go on, but exactly what you start with depends on how the course is designed.

If you're talking just for general study purposes, you could start anywhere you wanted--you're going to have to learn it all eventually anyway.

  3. Sole or Palm first and upwards in the junior phase and Head and Neck or Abdomen in senior phase

Dead bodies are thus distributed to a batch dissecting

  4. do the upper limb........its easy and it will help u get accustomed to the learning..........

  5. First of all, if you are actually studying before med school, you have an anxiety problem. But I will give you a hint. First buy a puppy- a loyal studying friend. You need to relax and enjoy studying- its a great thing to come home from school and have a loyal friend...it will get you through school.

Then study the back and neck and spine. Its always the first part of anatomy in med school. As soon as you ace the first test, med school will catch up to you- and you will panic like the rest. good luck.
