I always read about all these vitamins and supplements that do wonders for you, like on the aol homepage for example, but if you were to choose one to take and recommend, which would it be? Basically im just trying to find out various opinions as to which ones actually work and what they do. Also by the way, i take the centrum performance multivitamin and omega 3 mainly cause ive heard so much about it i figured it couldn't hurt.

  2. I'll give you the same answer here that I gave to someone else regarding vitamins:

Usually, vitamins are manufactured in dirty conditions in foreign countries and full of . . . mmn, foreign materials. Yum. Lead for breakfast and mercury for a snack with a piece of chicken beak for calcium. (even recently people have had severe reactions like hair and nails falling out from an overdose of selenium from an oversight by the makers of Total Health Formula)

Even if you are able to find a great multi-vitamin that ISN'T made in China or Mexico (labels usually only tell you where something is distributed from, not where it is made), and even if you are able to find one that comes from whole food sources, the contents are pasturized and processed into a product that is only a shadow of what it could be for your body.

If you want something good for you, look for your nutrition from food sources. Synthetic vitamins can damage your organs (for example, vitamin D in milk is synthetic and it damages your liver), and most vitamins are synthetic. If they aren't synthetic, they're not viable.

Now I know that most people can't get their nutrition from food sources every day. It's difficult. You do have options.

You can purchase some spirulina and nutritional yeast to take daily in a smoothie. Not yummy, but it manages most of your requirements, especially if you eat some citrus and red/orange veggies every day. And it's not terribly expensive. You can check out different places online or buy in bulk from your local health food store.

Or, you can go to an herbalist and ask them to create a vitamin/mineral formula based specifically on YOUR needs as a person. This shouldn't be killer expensive unless they're a jerk. You shouldn't pay more than $20-40 for a month's supply. Most usually, this will be in a liquid form. Make sure that the herbalist is experienced in creating vitamin formulas. If they don't know what you're talking about, go elsewhere.

  3. I use only one and it comes in liquid form for better absorption, contains a high ORAC score for antioxidants, it has omega 3-6- and 9 fatty acids, trace minerals, essential amino acids and fiber.  This juice also contains plant derived glucosamine for joint health.  It really is a one stop shop of total wellness.  The best part is that it actually tastes good!

  4. Only one? That's a tough decision. Probably a potent multivitamin or omega 3 oil. I prefer flax seed oil as a source, I usually mix about 1 tbsp of it with a shake and drink it.

  5. Hi, I read in http://www.myhealth-forum.com/ that MagneB6 does wonders for the overall health so I gave it a try. I advise you to try it too and tell us if it works for you. It's great for me...
