  1. lol

  2. Okay, you know how when you're making pancakes and you have just a tiny bit of dough left? Well, I don't know about you, but I usually just splatter it into the pan and make tiny pancakes or little doughballs. :P

Sort of like if the Gods ran out of land-dough and just splattered in some random islands? :D

  3. Everytime a God got angry, they would pound their fist on their throne and an island would pop out on earth.

  4. Volcanos.  Definitely volcanos.

Also, you might say that they are the result of massive oceanic whirlpools, which gathered and compressed all manner of debris and seaweed and small boats, and made them into an island.

If the inhabitants of your legendary world liked to bury their dead at sea (or do Viking style funerals) you might say that the ocean gathered all the dead into one place and made an island out of their bones.  That would be suitably legendary, not to mention creepy as $£^&. :-)

  5. Continents exploded and broke up into huge flying land masses that landed in small chunks in the middle of the ocean

  6. God took a c**p.

    Bam, islands.

  7. I have heard several of thse types,

but my favorite one is from where

i used to live in maui, hawaii. once

upon a time, a young polanesian

man named maui was out on a

fishing trip. he was a very mischifus

man and he had a majic fishing hook

. so he cast his line, reeled in and

had to pull real hard, so he kept on

pulling and up came an island, then

he cast out and another came and

so on, and that is how hawaii was

    made.

  8. god pooped xD joke i dont know

  9. Islands broke off from the land because it cheated on his wife (canada)

  10. I say islands are caused by the open spaces between Atlas's fingers when he was holding up the earth before he threw it into orbit.

  11. The story of thee beast in revelations is one that I would base it on. The 7 headed beast is a story of geological upheaval on a massive scale.

  12. I would use the story about pele and the hawaiian islands

  13. They're Earth's warts.

  14. that sounds like an AWESOME story to write!

    nice thinking man!

  15. Our planet collided with a planet made of water. The inside of our planet had an explosion and caused the insides to burst. The combination of the "wet planet" and the inner explosion caused "bumps"...islands. You could make it more interesting by adding that there were "beings" that caused this great catastrophic event. You could make it to be science fiction or you could add that the God of the universe did something to cause the catastrophy.

    hope this helps you out:)
