I would pay off my mortgage and help out my close family members, invest wisely and then take a trip to South America, Africa, Egypt.

Pay off all my bills. Then, with the $20 left over, I'd go out and have a decent meal.

Keep $50k to situate myself for one year and take a couple vacations then give the rest (the whole $950k) away. I truly believe that if you know what to do with that much money then you will know how to get it back. If not, then winnings like that will only compound debt problems. Either way, a large lump-sum of money is usually not the answer.

buy a car,

give some to family and then travel

give 10 percent to my church, save 10 percent. then with whats left over, buy a car, help my parents out with paying off their bills. then see about buying a house.
