  1. If you are young enough to still be in high school then you shouldn't adopt. Wait until you are established as an adult. Also, it is want, not wont

  2. You said:  "but iam not ready yet"

I'd say that's your answer.  If you're not ready, don't adopt.

  3. first, you cannot adopt right outta high school. You must be 21 maybe older. What you should do is finish high school, have some fun, get a job and/or go to college, get married or not, save lots of money, gain some maturity and then think of adopting. In the meantime, you could babysit, or work at daycare or volunteer at rec center or youth club or some other child orientated place.

  4. You don't say what kind of school you're finishing. If it's highschool, you're too young. If you're a 22 year old finishing college, you're too young. And the word for "desiring to do something is spelled "want."

That being said, if you're looking at a child on a state web site and you're meant to have that child, s/he will still be available when you're ready. If not, good for the kid: s/he got a home.

There will always be kids who need parents. If you adopt before you're ready (if they let you) it could have a devastating effect on a child. If it doesn't work out, the kid goes back to foster care. Wait till you're ready!

  5. I am 22 and just adopted 5 children with my husband. I hated the fact that during the process i had to constantly fight to prove that we were ready. I am in school and work. I enjoy my family because they have helped me mature and grow and as a person. We are they best thing to happen to each other. And I would hate to see people discourage you. Show interest in the child and ask if there are any other parents showing interest. Let them know your intent to adopt and find out what the process would be so that when the time comes you are best prepared.

My age actually is a plus in my relationship with the children. Ages 2-8
