  1. ive worked in cali and nevada, and here at least we need (or should be, your choice) to be reporting at least 10% of our gross sales. also, the way our systems work, all of our credit card tips are automatically reported. it is up to us how much cash tips we want to report, if any. if i have averaged 20 percent tips all day and most were credit card, i wont really claim any cash tips. you just want to make sure that you are claiming 10 % of your sales, b/c if you dont, the irs will allocate you on them and you will owe.

  2. no, why do you have to, the law to cut into everything is not fair.

  3. Report to who?

    Taxes, yeah.

Kitchen, yeah since almost everywhere does pooled tips.

  4. Technically, yes.

on a legal stand point you do, thats what the law says.

    credit card tips have to,

but as for cash, Do we do it, No.

  5. yes and no you have to report some , for tax reasons, but if you get enough tips on credit cards you can surely keep the cash!!

  6. yes, you do. so retarded. i hate the government.

  7. depending on the boss u have and his rules...

  8. yup.  The government WILL catch up to you eventually, and the fines are really high!

Almost all tips come on credit cards, these days, and they know what you have made.

  9. You are supposed to, but those who actually want to make money do not. I used to claim about 10% of my tips, otherwise I would not even get a paycheck. The government is still taking my money either way!
