Among other things....i work 15 hours at my job on the college campus. I also have to do hours for calworks which sis something for single parents or parents on cash aid. Well i'm singly parent and on cash aid and i am required to do this work experience...so during my fall semester i will be doing 15 hours of work, 12 units...so 4 classes and then also work experience (the unpaid job) for 17 hours...i don't want to do all of them but because i don't have much left over for child care...calworks helps with it and they pay it, i do what they want. But i have no life literally i don't sleep right hours because i have to take the bus and wake up early and now with school i'll be having to study too...what would you do? I"m thinking of getting an exemption, which will leave me out o child care. But there are other places to help so i will look into that...would you go somewhere to work after getting out of work and classes from your long day? or would you skip out?

  1. hate to tell you but you lost your life when you had a baby at such a young age.  But I do commend you on going back to school.  Some day you will have your life back.  If you are on cash aid and it is required you work, in a sense you are getting paid for it, they are providing you the cash aid.  If you skip out on it, you run the risk of losing that aid, and potentially having to pay back any money they already provided.  How about cutting back on the classes and only taking 3?  you have a full load of classes and two jobs and then taking care of your baby.  Thats too much...../

  2. If I were required to work at a job without pay because of a situation like yours, I would go regardless of how fatigued I was.

The fact is, you will never again have a social life.  You brought a child into this world, that child is your life.

    Good luck
