by flooding this year after its levees failed, would you approve giving low-interest loans to people who wanted to rebuild their houses on the same property?

  1. As opposed to what?  Housing them in rotten FEMA trailers for the next three years?  Driving them out of state to start over in Texas?

    There is no simple answer to this, but generally I support rebulding communities and lending the money is better than a straight handout.


  2. No, these properties are clearly in the flood zone of the Mississippi river.  A levee is only a stop gap measure.  These properties never should have been developed in the first place.   Didn't we learn this with Katrina and New Orleans?
