  1. No now  get lost

  2. Yea. What ever she wanted to order I would sell it to her.

  3. well...you are right to be concerned

    pregnant women should not drink

but...we can not police the world

if you are the bartender...you can on the sly...pour a weak drink

    but otherwise...not much

you might lose your job if you offend her

    ON another note

a glass of wine...is suggested when a woman goes in labor

    help contractions-relaxes them.

  4. I'd tell her that I wasn't comfortable serving her, and tell her that if she would like, I can have my manager come to speak with her.

  5. i hate it when pregnant woman drink or smoke... i dont know what i would do, and ive worked in a bar before... i would like to think i would refuse, but who knows really...

kudos for getting like a million answers!

  6. Legally if the woman was not intoxicated to the point where she couildn't stand up then you would have to serve her...You can suggest maybe a soda or a non alcoholic drink due to her condition but if the woman wants alcohol then you have to serve her

  7. It probably wouldn't be my place NOT to...if I didn't mind getting fired then I probably wouldn't serve her.

  8. I would because it's your job and there's no law forbidding this, however, I'd just see it as wrong. The baby is her responsibilty, not yours.

  9. if she had company then you can't assume it's for her, even it it is for her therte is no law stopping her, just medical advice says you shouldn't drink when expecting.

  10. If you reserve to right to refuse service from anyone, of course I wouldn't because that could be damaging to the baby.

  11. I would prefer not to but I`m not there to be a judge and jury...

  12. Yes, if you said I'm not serving you as you are pregnant and the person was just fat you would get a good clout of her boy friend.

  13. I saw a segment on the news last week about pregnant women drinking (I think it was on the GMA...)  And there are women who enjoy a glass of wine once and while while they are pregnant, but they are more opt to do it at home because of discrimination.  The doctor they talked to said pregnant women should check with their OB and see what is ok, and that a women's right to drink is a decision between her and her OB.  The doctor they talked to also said that they don't know how much alcohol is too much for a fetus because studys have not been done and no one would partisipate in such a study.  So in conclusion, I would say it would depend on how much she was having.  The double shot might be a bit much, but if she was talking to her OB and they are ok with her decision, thats her decision. If she has a screwed up child as a consequence, that her consequence.

  14. Yes,

If you work in a bar, you're not a social worker.

It might not even be for her.....people do sometimes buy drinks for others.

  15. It could be concidered as abuse of an unborn child, if she was going to be drinking this way all evening, She could be buying it for someone else. Would you serve a drink to someone who was driving or someone who was under age?

I would serve her and ask if it were for her and suggest a soft drink but its not up to me unless I can prove abuse of the unborn.

  16. I'd give her a big glass of milk and educate her about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

  17. is she wants it then sure

  18. DON'T SERVE HER NOT ONLY ITS BAD FOR HER ITS VERY VERY BAD FOR THE BABY JUST DON'T SERVE IF SHE WANTS BEST FOR HER BABY JUST TELL HER THAT ACHOLOL WON'T HELP YOU AND YOUR BABY

  19. i would probably make a joke like...we dont serve "virgin rum and cokes here" to make her feel like the a*****e she shold for drinking while pregnant

  20. I'd give her one or two.  I wouldn't serve her more than that.

  21. OF COURSE NOT SHE COULD DAMAGE THE BABY BECAUSE THAT ONE DRINK DO U WANT TO BE RESPONSABLE 4 HURTING/ s******g UP A KIDS LIFE I DON'T CARE WHAT KIND OF DRINK A PREGNANT LADY WANTS YOU BETTER GET HER OUT OF THE BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  22. yeahh she has to make mistakes if she has to learn

  23. She could be buying a round.

  24. I'd sit her down and have a nice, long chat over a pint of light beer... she's probably just in need of a friendly face to lend and ear.

Unless...... she's an obvious lush, then just get the bouncer to show her the door or call her a cab home.

  25. I would calmly ask her, "should you really be drinking?....there are some serious risks I'm sure you are aware of!!"  Maybe you can counsel her into not drinking (sometimes bartenders are like counselers.)  If she still wants the drink, then it is between her and God, so you really can't do much.

  26. NO! It would be the same as if you gave a drunk another drink and he went out and crashed his car, you would be responsible. So, just say "NO". It is easy and tell her the same thing about drinking and driving, she could harm her baby. If something did happen to her baby, guarantee you a lawyer would come and visit you. That's the way society is today, sorry.

  27. No, I would be responsible if she gets hurt

  28. Yeah... it's my job... dont be surprised if your baby comes out F'ed up.

  29. no. its against most bar/pub rules to give a pregnant woman a drink. it was where my sister and mom used to work.

  30. I would give the cool speech that the bouncer gave to the girls on the movie Knocked Up, lol.

  31. I guess, as she is the one making the choice.
