If you you buy an activated iphone 3G can you use it without a sim as a itouch with a camera?

Well i dont think so because you have to actavait it through iTunes or it doesnt do much. You can only make a emergency call i think(i have the old iPhone). I dont think there much diffrent comming to playing with it. Just buy a iTouch. Plus as soon as the person that gave u the phone gets a new one that phone will deactavaite i think not commpletely sure though.

Yes, Once the phone is activated its open.

But, watch out for updates you may need to re-activate it again, if you are unable to activate it you might be stuck with a software bricked iPhone.
