  1. ABSOLUTELY!!!  The 2 things you should consider when buying a bike is power level you want (or think you can handle from experience) and what size fits your body.  My first bike was a 1991 Suzuki Katana 600.  It was cheap and I thought it was a good choice since I didn't know if ridding was going to be something I really liked doing.  As I rode it home and pulled up to my girlfriends house, the first thing she said was that I looked like a monkey *ucking a football!  She was right.  I am 6'1" 240 pounds.  I would suggest not buying anything smaller that a 600cc 4-cylinder bike.  You will look more at home on it and it will have enough power to carry you around.  Most people don't think of it but considering most bikes weigh around 450 pounds, when the rider is 220+, he is making up 1/3 of the total weight (670 pounds) making a big difference in the overall performance-handling and acceleration.  This isn't really a consideration with cars where it weighs 20 times what you do.  You won't regret getting a bigger bike.  You wont outgrow it as you get better at ridding as you would a 250cc.  You would be bored in a month with a 250cc and be looking to buy something better/bigger.  It would also cost more money buying one then another.  Buying a respectable used model first would be a better choice in my opinion.

  2. i'm not into butt plugs, and that's about what it would look like under yours

  3. I'm 6' and the bike feels fine. Whoever said it doesn't have enough power is dumb, and probably never even ridden the 250R. A 600cc bike and 250cc are the same around town, it's when you give them full throttle the differenciate themselves. It does the speed limit and more.

  4. You need something bigger and more powerful.

  5. yup too small and would struggle under the weight, too little power.

  6. You will be much happier with a 650. If  you have to have a play racer look, try Hyosung they have 3 models in each size. Even their 250 will run with a ninja and own it in the corners. These are good  reliable machines that you do not have to pay as much for a name . And yes the Ninja 250 is down on power. Most of the riders out here that is their first bike and they have not  ridden motorcycles long enough to know. Also a lot of them say  no one can tell it is a 250 we can tell.

  7. not if your going to join the circus

  8. I'm with Sid on this one. You are going to need to start with at least a 450. But if you decide to get a 225 ninja, please post picts! I can always use a chuckle.

    (No harm meant there, honest!)

  9. The article (link below) states that their tester's 6'1" frame was a bit cramped.

Best bet is to sit on one and feel for yourself.
