That is what my aunt did to my Grandfather. He died the NEXT day. She called me and cussed me out because I told the Doctor to put it back to his regular dose. He was in excruciating pain and begging for help. I wasn't about to leave that hospital until he got his regular dose back up. When I got home she called me and went off. I told her she could watch him die without pain medication because I would not. She called a few hours later and told me she did not want him in pain and had orderd morphine. He died that night. I think she killed him to be totally honest. It is a shame that an 85 year old WWII Veteran who fought from the Beaches of Normandy all the way to rescue people in concentration camps who was a part of our 4th infantry that received a purple heart and the bronze medal had to spend his very last day on earth begging for his pain medication because his daughter lowerd it. This makes me think she did the same thing to my Grandmother. What do you all think?

  1. Yes, it indeed sounds that way. By reducing his pain medication she allowed him to have to endure the constant strain the pain placed on his system. This can be taxing to the point of causing severe shock to the system. Whatever reason she had for doing this isn't anywhere good enough.

  2. Currently my father has cancer, and I wouldn't deny him anything to relieve the pain.  That is so inhumane and cruel to even suggest that his meds be lowered.  No one should have to endure suffering in this day and time.

  3. I'm really sorry for your loss.  My father died of cancer and he begged and prayed for meds because he was in so much pain.  Hospice came in and my mother was afraid she gave him too much morphine because he died shortly after his dose. . . but he died peacefully.  I wouldn't lower it intentionally.  I would want him to be as comfortable as possible. It's hard because you get scared and by not being in the medical profession you can only go by the advice of the medical professionals.   Good Luck!

  4. Not enough information about your Aunt.  When my Mother was dying of CANCER, I was worried about the amount of pain killers I was giving her.  The Hospice nurse asked me if I was worried about her getting hooked.

  5. It sounds like your aunt is evil.
