  1. Why not just go back to your duty station.  Contact them and let them handle your travel arrangements.  I do not know how long you have been in or how long you were UA for but I had two friends go UA early in their enlistments.  One of them for two weeks and the other for over a month.  Both were busted down and had the time they were gone added to their enlistment time.  Besides, why an Army base?  Is it closer?

  2. Trish,

You can turn yourself in to any branch.

The person you turn yourself into should be an MP, AF SF, or Navy MAA. If not one of those, then an NCO or Navy PO. [For instance if you go to a recruiting office].

Here's the true deal, Trish. You will be sent back to your command. They are the one who will hold Office Hours - your CO. That's a must by the UCMJ.

Thus, Trish, no matter where you turn yourself into, you are going back to your command - unless they are deployed, then the next MajCom up.

Further - if you turn yourself in local, you will (most likely) be cuffed, read your Article 32 rights, and transported as a prisoner. If you go back to your unit it will go MUCH smoother. I recommend going back on your own if you can. I highly recommend you go back on your own. It will go much better for you.

    Good luck to you, Trish.

  3. You can turn yourself into any military activity (base, post, armory, recruiting station etc). You can also turn yourself into any local, state, or federal facility (police station, State Patrol, FBI) and with a simple explanation of your situation they will assist in contacting the nearest military activity.

Once you have turned yourself in, you will be returned to your original military unit.

I recommend doing this expeditiously as your pay will cease after 30 days of being AWOL. Also, reconciliation with the unit is easier if you return sooner rather than later. One last point, if your situation occured because of a dispute with the chain of command, I recommend returning to your unit through the use of a unit chaplain, Inspector General, or Judge Advocate General.

    Good Luck.

  4. Yes, you can turn yourself into any military installation including a recruiting office. They will send you back to the unit that you are AWOL from. There you will face whatever disciplinary action you time being AWOL rates. If you were gone long enough, you could serve brig/stockade time and then be given a BCD, UD or DD.

  5. Of course, the Military Marine Police will send you back to face disciplinary actions by the military commanders for being AWOL.

  6. yes and yes good luck

  7. yes i am in the army so is my husband and i double checked with him it doesnt matter what base or branch also if there is a wornt out for your arrest you can turn yourself in at the police station you can call the nearest station and ask to be ran and see if there are any wornts out for youe arrest too

  8. You can turn yourself in at any military base and yes they will ship you back to the unit you are AWOL from for prosecution and discharge.  You can also turn yourself in to any law enforcement organization - they will also get you shipped back to your unit.  If you are AWOL it is better to get this done as soon as possible and out it behind you.

  9. yes any government facility will take you. depending on where you turn yourself in a chaser from your parent unit will come and get you. most cases you are taken to you command then they will send you to the brig. depends on how long you have been UA. but by you typing AWOL im guessing you are not a Marine. If you have been UA or AWOL for more than 30 days in the time of war you are considered a deserter.

  10. Just turn yourself in at the nearest post, active or guard, or go talk to the recruiters they'll get a hold of the authorities. If there is an warrant out you will be caught, usually on a simple traffic stop. I'd do it right away to avoid the most problems. NCIS will eventually find you.
