  1. No it will not effect your growth. Females can keep growing until they are 18 and Males can keep growing until their 21. You probably just haven't hit your big growth spurt yet. And yes you can build muscle and lose weight at the same time. All you are doing is replacing the fat in your body with the muscle, But as muscle weighs more than fat, You need to eat healthy to lose weight as well. And if you want to lose weight,  EAT HEALTHY as well. Vegetables, fruits and grain. eat and drink milk/dairy products as well because obviously it's good for your bones. Eat fruits such as bananas, oranges, apples, peaches, etc. Eat a variety of them as well as a variety of vegetables. Asperagus, green beans, corn,  carrots, etc. With the fruits and veggies, try to have about 3 fruit's a day and 4 servings of veggies. Eat grains(healthy cereal, whole wheat bread, pasta's, rice, etc.) And with dairy, milk, yogurt, etc. With grains try to have about 5 servings a day, and dairy about 4 servings a day at least. Thats the best advise I could give you.

  2. oh no u cant build muscle and lose weight u can MAINTAIN muscle and burn fat that's called cutting ud need to half ur carb intake increase ur protein intake and add cardio 3x a week thats what u can do..lifting is in debate but most pple say it's myth im 15 lifting and i was recommended to if i wanted by my doc...it's perfectly fine trust me my doc lets me i asked all these questions about it they said to..and yea id say ur pretty d**n strong man it wont effect ur height being overweight actually as a teen u should weigh more so u grow or u wont if ur underweight that's where problems come in...so if u wanna lose weight but not muscle ull hav to cut and ull look more defined it's not a bad thing just uwont build muscle in the process muscle weighs alot for the amount of space it takes up that's why u dont look like u weigh 200lbs

  3. here a little something that should clear up the growth issue:  Weight lifting/powerlifting/bodybuilding do not stunt growth. That is one of the oldest myths that revolves around lifting. Height is encoded into your DNA which makes it genetically predetermined what height you will reach. FYI...Bones grow longer because of the fusion of epiphyseal growth plates in your long bones and are not all affected at once. They are fused together with the help of hormones (growth hormone, insulin, thyroid hormone, androgens, and glucocorticoids). Therefore, it is impossible to work out during or before puberty and somehow stop all growth plates from fusing together. Boys and girls as young as 5 or 6 and younger possibly have trained with weights. They have also had 5 and 6 year olds compete in weightlifting and powerlifting events. It is a subject that has been studied very much and not one study has shown that weight training stunts growth. Although, the studies do not involve major injuries with kids your age but even still, most injuries that stunt growth are usually involved with sports that involve running and jumping that can create extremely high forces on ones joints. Drugs such as steroids and medications can also stunt growth. There are actually even some studies that show weight training to be a stimulant for height (not proven completely true yet) and it is shown that lifting weights for young kids can be a great benefit to have stronger bones and muscles. Your body releases significant growth hormone and testosterone and it will not let the tearing down and building up of muscles inhibit your growth. Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, Karl Malone all started lifting in their early teens and are all way over 6 feet tall. Arnold and Lou Ferrigno also started lifting when they were as young as 14 and both are over 6 feet. I also started weight lifting when i was 11, then powerlifted for a few years when i was 14, and started bodybuilding when i was 17 and I am taller than most in my family. My brother was competing in powerlifting when he was 10 and he is the same height as me. So do not believe this myth, it is very untrue and you will not have your growth stunted. Just make sure you are taught proper form and always use a reasonable weight. Using an extreme amount of weight that you are unable to handle will eventually cause injury. Remember, do not let anyone tell you that this bad rumor/myth is true, because it is far from being true.

U still may grow a bit more, but i cannot (and neither can anybody else without x-rays of your epiphyseal growth plates).  Being obese or morbidly obese has been shown in studies to negatively effect ur growth, but that doesnt include u so do not worry about it.  Since u powerlift, a lot of ur weight is coming from lean muscle mass.  This is y u should not check ur BMI b/c it will say that ur overweight/obese but it doesnt take muscle mass into account.  Also, an answer above said that u cannot build muscle and lose fat at same time, but u can only maintain it.  That is partially true.  U cannot gain and lose at same time (it is impossible without performance enhancing substances), and u cannot even maintain the muscle.  Cardiovascular work will always decrease the amount of muscle that u have.  There is an enzyme (called PDK1) that increases ribosomes to increase protein synthesis by way of another enzyme called TORC1.  However, during cardio work, a second messenger called AMPK, inhibits PDK1 and in turn increases fatty acid oxidation (breakdown of fats for energy, very important during endurance activities).  SO u will not have the protein synthesis that is veyr important for rebuilding of muscle after a workout. Of course, cardio doesnt burn all the muscle, but it is impossible to maintain muscle wen trying to decrease fat.  However, lifting during fat burning can help decrease the amount of muscle lost, but there still will be some. I no it sucks.  But all in all, ur growth will not be altered.  Just make sure that u utilize proper form at all times.

good luck and ne further questions, feel free to email me.
