some ppl dislike me for the sole fact I am a single mother raising 4 kids on my own without help from my family. More so they just can't believe I can do it on my own and need someone in my life to help me. They get upset at the fact that I can't be with all my kids functions at the same time. I rotate it around each kid to when I will be where. They understand this but the "small town mindness" is set and they think it's wrong for me to live this way. I didn't have a choice and my kids come first, they all know that. It takes a stong person to raise kids on their own and they don't like the fact that I am a strong person and dont put up with their "gossiping" I hear something about me, I WILL confront that person and tell them that until they are in my shoes to keep their big mouths SHUT!...I am very stright forward and do not like gossipers and they all know this.

It can be a variety of things. One most overlooked cause for some is your physical appearance and voice. You might have an angry looking face but actually be happy. Your voice may be deep and have a threatening sound even though your calm. You may be short and people may feel you have neopolean syndrome when ever you are confident because of it. You may be one who genuinely questions what most people believe in. You might not be into big crowds of people, and the kinds of jokes you like may not be what most people like to joke about. Point is, you don't even have to be a bad person or have bad personal traits. People judge others on first glance and will treat you accordingly. So if they view you as someone to not like or to ignore, they will do just that and you would have done nothing to cause it.

Many people go through this and decide to blame themselves for it when it is out of there control. The only thing they can really do is conform to the society around them. But if they genuinely go against being something they aren't, it will be futile to try to be like otehr people. A lose/lose situation.

my best friend is like that. really, sometimes i think people have a hard time with her personality. she can be rather brisque and "a mean little bully" at times but for the most part, she is really funny and she just doesn't take c**p from people. so it just be sensitive to how you come across to people
