  1. Seems to me that Harvard is the place you should be asking this.........not the genealogy forum.  While we do research our ancestors, we have no part in the rules and regulations of Harvard.  That is not a genealogy issue.  It is a Harvard issue.  My step-son is a direct descendant of Alfred the Great.  He attends Alfred University in NY which was named for him.  He has proven his ancestry but it did not get him any favors.  It only got him a mention in the University archives.


  2. you might be able to get a scholarship if you can prove you are a direct descendent of that person.  Carnagie  the big steel baron from pittsburgh is in my family and i was able to get a scholarship for the school but couldn't go for free.  but i had to prove how i was related to the man.

  3. The simple answer from a Harvard perspective is no, the school offers only need based financial aid, not scholarships per se.  Other entities, such as foundations, may assist you in paying for your education, but it won't be from Harvard itself.
