If your appendix burst what happens?

Question

How long do you have to get to the hospital before you die?

And what are the chances of surviving if you make it there? A percent would be nice?

I asked my doctor he said very good he deals with them all the time

Depends on what it burst from.... If its infections you will know it you will be praying for death with how much pain ur in!  In modern medicine your most likely going to live.  You may have a lot of damage but you will live.  Most people get to an ER before it burst and if it does then within a 24 hr period.  I know people with endometriosis,rare but it does happen, will have theirs burst and may not know about it for a while!

you appendix is like a poison storage area.  it is where your body puts thinks that are bad for you.  sometimes it gets infected and fills up with puss and poison.  that is what is called appendicitis.  if it ruptures than all of that puss and poison are released into your guts and there is a possibility they may have to remove your guts and wash them with saline.  then put them all back in.  GO TO THE HOSPITAL if this happens
