  1. If you've received paperwork from the courts requesting the exam, call the attorney that handled your bankruptcy. The Rule 2004 exam is based on the median income filed at the time of filing. You will want to know if that can effect yours. I'm not sure if being dismissed would make a difference, but, your attorney can tell you that, sometimes they can re-open cases, but I believe there is a time frame to do all this. Your attorney should be able to tell you that over the phone. Good Luck!
