  1. sometimes

  2. I think that you can but I think they get used to all of the stimulation. my cat is a indoor cat and when I tried to take her outside she almost killed me. Your cat might still try to get out but I think its best that cats stay indoors. I read that cats live longer in doors than on the outside. :)

  3. with a lot of patience it can be done with any cat.

  4. depends on the cat

  5. I've been told it can be done, but it can take a week or more before the cat gives up begging to be let out.  The best way to discourage the crying and digging at the door is to totally ignore it.  Don't talk to the cat, give him treats, pet him or anything while he's at the door.  When he gives up and walks away from the door, then praise him, pet him, give him attention, etc.

Also, you need to make his indoor environment as entertaining as possible.  Get a cat tree (tall scratching post) and put it by a window.  Give him lots of toys, play with him, give him cat nip, etc.  Also, provide him with cat grass to eat (since he's used to eating grass outside).

I tried to make my outdoor cat an indoor cat, but I finally gave up.  He was so miserable, that I couldn't take it.  I hope you have better luck than I did.

  6. its possible but you may have to keep it in the house for a while and it will be hard with all the training and you may have to keep it in a special room laundry or bathroom overnight and it may cry, make sure you have a litter box, feed it well, lots of love, and at least let it outside every once in a while because it would be cruel if it couldn't go out.

  7. sometimes.

it really depends on the cat

  8. You can, but it will take a lot of patience.  It's safer if you leave your cat indoors, but some of them have a real taste for going outside and it will be hard to keep them in.  What I would do is start keeping them indoors at night first, then gradually cut back on the amount of time they are allowed out during the day.  Make sure you have plenty of toys for them, a window view that they can watch out, and give them lots of love and attention.

  9. It is possible! Cat's love the outdoors because they can hunt, play and p**p when ever and where ever they want. If you bring some of those aspects into the house it will make the transition easier.

TOYS: Buy some cheap toys of all different kinds (My cats LOVE feathers). Cheap toys will not last long, but it will help you find out what your cat likes. Then get him a some toys he can play with by him/her self and scatter them around the house. Hide the toys that requires you to play with him/her. That way they wont get bored when they play with you.

PLAY: Playing with your cat whether he/she is outdoor or indoor is essential. Because your cat is used to hunting outside he will need to be entertained. Getting some toys that need food, treats, or cat nip, will spark his interests. Also putting cat nip spray on his toys, bed, and scratching post will keep him to the areas where you want him. The best thing is to simply play with your cat, it will be rewarding and fulfilling for the both of you.

TRAINING: Some cats adapt to litter box training very quickly, and some need time. But if cleaning the litter box is one of the reasons why your cat is outdoors then you might wat to consider Toilet training ( http://www.litterkwitter.com/en/index.ph... ). Get a couple of scratching post, more then one, so the cat can have fun scratching in different places. Also claw caps are safe for the cat and unharmful for the furnature ( http://www.softclaws.com/ ).

It might take time, but the results will be a happy and healthy cat. I hope this helps. :D
