If your central air conditioning is located in the garage does it use the air that's in the garage?

We smoke in the garage and don't open the garage door and we have our ac on most of the day. Where does the air come from? Will fumes and smoke go into our house?

  1. no the main unit only changes heat from the coil in the house,


  2. HVAC Tech.: No! Unless the garage is also air conditioned. You will however get some smoke into the house as you come and go Thur the door. Also there is the smoke that gets into your clothes and hair. That is the reason smoking is not permitted within 25ft. of a doorway of a smoke free building.

  3. yes...ours is in the attic...and it pulls air from around it...it needs air to run...yours is in the garage it needs air to run and it is pulling your smoke right back into your house
