If your child has a secret pet?

What if your child managed to hide and take care of a pet in their room, like a hamster, or bunny, kitten, etc. They've had it for at least a month or two and they really cared about it. Then you find out!

Would you let them keep it? Or would you remove it from them?

  1. well when i was younger it so happens that i did that ALOT.

i managed to keep a tarantula in my dresser drawer for almost a year before it was discovered and i got to keep it, then did it again with a dwarf goat but they found him within a month and i got to keep him too.

the only reason was because having to care for them for so long by myself i proved i was capable.

  2. Tell the child it is wrong to hide things from you but let them keep the pet.

  3. ha ha ha yes ofcourse , i think thats adorable

  4. If they've kept it a secret and took care of it for a month, then yes, I would let them keep it!

It would be so mean not to let them keep the animal!

  5. LOL- I cannot imagine that happening, as I am in there vacuuming and getting laundry daily.

but if it did (hypothetically) I would not them keep a hamster (gross- I'm terrified) or a bunny (I'm terrified of that, too).. but a kitten.. well heck, they couldn't even pry a kitten from MY hands. So yeah.

My kids are pretty dependent on me and can't even feed the cats we have so if they kept one for a month hidden- I would probably find it-gasp-dead!

  6. I think pets come with a good lesson of responsibility and respect for other things , a child that is kind to animals will be kind to people .It filters into the aspects of what is socially aceptable.Let them take and finish the responsibility.

  7. I would let them keep it.  But then again, my kids would never have to hide a pet, because it's usually me who ends up bringing them home in the first place!

  8. let them keep it cause obviosly they can keep care of it if they have had it for a month or two and it teaches resposiblity.

  9. well it depends wat it is if it is a snake or anything that slithers then um NO but bunny or cat puppy i could care less but they have to care for it take it on walks feed it bath it the usual!

  10. well i would let them keep it they obviously can do it them selves so let them have it
