  1. By law, medical records have  to be preserved for 7 years at least.  The Family will make arrangements for the records. or the deceased doctor's attorney will. Usually there is an announcement in the newspaper as to how to get the records.

    If you missed the announcement, often the office phone number will tell you how to get your records for a period of time.  If not, try the Medical Society, as suggested.
