If your driver's permit is ripped up in a few pieces, is it okay to just tape it back together?

Long story short - my dad got angry at me and ripped up my driver's permit. I heard you can just get it renewed for $5, but I also heard that I have to retake the entire permit test all over and wait another 6 months to take my driver's test. Which is true?

  1. To get it renewed after been lost or destroyed it will cost you again, and you will also need his signature.  Will he sign for you to get another?


  2. No you can just go pay the 5$ and get another...just tell the it got wet or something
