If your engine blows or sets on fire & you have fully comprehensive insurance, will this cover you?

will you lose your no claims discount?

i purchased a car and got it insured through the internet, i paid by mastercard but my engine set on fire 4 hours later.

im unsure if i will get covered, i did get a confirmation email from the insurance company.

anyone with info please reply soon

  1. If you got a confirmation saying that you are insured and they emailed you a printable insurance card and policy, then you're covered unless they have some sort of waiting period, which will be stated in the policy. But if the date insured says today, then you're covered. Call to speak with a claims agent to get the ball rolling. Fire is covered under comprehensive. From a claims agent's point of view, I'm just warning, this might seem a bit fishy, like fraud, so be prepared for questioning. You'll lose your no claims discount if you make a claim, obviously.


  2. you should be covered if foul play was not nvolved the insurance company will invetigate the car for any signs of foul play o fraudulant claim
