How do you handle the situation, noting that this person isn't a close friend. How do you save everyone the embaressement?

I just kept on talking pretending that I didn't hear anything.....

thats horrible!!! poor guy i would try to ignore it & just keep on talking like you did. i don't know if i could resist laughing though. oh well its not really important its an akward situation either way & it couldn't be avoided... well i mean you didn't know he would do that did you?

I agree with what you did.. ignore it.. he had to have known he did it, if you heard it he sure should have and felt it.. lol i wonder what he was thinking after he did it.. like.. Oh man I hope no one heard it, I hope no one smelled it or I hope no one says anything.. and I hope they forget about it when I leave.. lol Could of been one of those that snuck up on him without warning.. lol

You did the right thing by ignoring it and saved your associate from embarrassment.  I personally would have died laughing and it wouldn't have bothered me becasue you said the person isn't a close friend so who cares....LMAO, just thinking about the situation.
