If your friend has a front-of-the-line pass at Six Flags Magic Mountain, do you still wait at the end?

My friend is going to get an Xtreme pass, allowing for free parking and free front-of-the-line benefits. If it's just the two of us (i'm going to get a regular pass), do i still have to wait at the end of the line while he waits for me up front?
