  1. if your pedal jams,  and the engine is racing,  the first thing to do is stop it.    Immediately!!!!   Before you hit someone/something or blow up the motor.    Turn off the switch.

The switch should not go into the lock position with the car in gear.   You will lose power steering and brakes,   but still be able to coast out of traffic.

Most importantly,  don't drive that piece of junk again until you get it properly repaired.

  2. I would turn off the ignition being careful not to turn it to the steering lock position. Be ready for the power brakes to become hard to press also lose power steering. Both are manageable if you are alert.

  3. Turn the ignition off but not to the stop position, turn on your hazard lights and pull to the side of the road or to an open field or parking lot.........................

  4. Turn ignition off and pull to the side of the road.

    PS.

if it ever happens in real life also try pumping the pedal hard several times and that may clear it up.

  5. OMG...read the book!!!

Hold down the brake...turn off the ignition

  6. I'm going to assume that this is case of an emergency.

Generally, I've heard the following procedure

    1) Once you have realized that your gas pedal has jammed, maintain control of the car.

    2) Sound your horn, turn on your hazard lights and use any other means to signal the cars ahead of you that you cannot brake.

    3) Shift the car into neutral, doing so will stop the car from accelarating.

    4) Attempt to shut off the engine. You will have control of the car.

    5) Pull over to the side of the road or another safe area.

    6) Once you have glided to complete stop, assess your situation.. it is up to you whether you want to continue to your desitation or call for a tow...(Although most experts prefer the latter...)

    Notes:

    - Do not apply your parking or emgerency brake! You cause damage to the brakes and you may lost control of your car.

    - Do not downshift into 1 or 2. Although this will help slightly, doing so will cause major engine probelms!

    - Always maintain control of your car! When you turn-off your engine, you will lose power steering... you will still be able to steer the car, but it will take extra effort!

    - Always attempt to pull to a safe area of the road... avoid stopping in the middle of traffic if possible.

  7. Turn off the motor and coast to a stop.Be careful will lose power steering and power brakes. And don't listen to specialf that will blow the motor.

  8. you step hard on it till it budges

  9. the best coa(course of action) is to shift into neutral so that the car cannot accelerate, pull off to the side of the road, and try to fix it then

  10. the first thing to do is to free the gear (Manual transmission only) and immediately switch off the engine. Get to the side of the road (emergency lane for a motorway) and switch on the hazard signal. Don't attempt to start the car until repairs are done, or not just you'll waste fuel, but also, you may damage the ignition timing and irregulate the RPM.
