If your good voices in your head that means that you are crazy?

I was watching a tvdocumentaryl about voices.. I know there are bad voices in their heads.. but some people have said there are good voices.. they gave inspiration for creating music or poems or letters.. or to find new things.. I am not sure.. if you understood me.. but to hear voices is bad or good? it's a mental illness? if those voices are normal? the good voices.. voices which tell us to do good actions.. I am not talking about God or angels.. I just say voices..

personally i believe voices in peoples heads are ether God or Satan saying things to someone or going them ideas. now Satan can sounds like the good guy saying things in your head too.

sometimes voices in the head are just your own stupid self saying w/e. but those are my opinions on the topic. everyone's going to have there own unique opinion on this subject.

Hearing voices is a symptom that is not specific to one mental disorder.

If there is no impairment in functioning (in other words, if you hold a job OK and don't have interpersonal problems) AND you don't mind hearing voices, then it is not a mental disorder.

If however you have impairment in functioning, or distress about the voices, then it is likely a form of psychosis (like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder).  Less commonly it may be part of a dissociative disorder, or a Borderline Personality Disorder.

Hearing voices telling you to self destruct are bad and a sign of mental illness.

Hearing voices talking to you about normal everyday things is a sign of Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Hearing one voice in your head, instructing you on right and wrong, I believe is your conscience talking.
