  1. Assuming people and pets aren't in the house, I would say my books. I have an entire library of them, and they have sentimental value to me. Books have a special meaning to me- they teach me things, inspire me, let me escape my own life for a little while, and get so into someone else's life, it's something special. That's what i would miss the most.

  2. photos for sure. all the other material things can be replaced, but photos from the past can't.

  3. pictures of my son and a few sentimental things of my sisters as she passed away 12 years ago and they're the only thing I have left of her. Everything else (assuming family and dogs were rescued) is replaceable.

  4. I agree.  Things like pictures and sentimental items.  I have a small stuffed toy that I slept with as a child.  It would be of no value to anyone but me but if I had time to get out only a few material possessions that toy would be one of the first things rescued.

  5. Lets see, Id have to say some things from my childhood Ive saved, assuming that my two cats were rescued, and the only way they wouldnt be is if my house burnt down while I was at work.

  6. Agree with you picts for the sentimental value.....a few yrs back we were burlged and they took the home video tapes of when my daughter came home from hospital birthe.....first bath, first home moments the lot. As we video'd the occasion we didn't take many pics.......anyway we were burgled and the tapes were taken........very sickening feeling.

  7. I agree.  Material objects can be replaced.  But the memories photos bring back are irreplaceable.
