If your house was about to burn down??

If your house was about to burn down and you could only save one thing what would it be and why??

my kids, nothing else would matter (course the I'm gonna fight like h*ll to go back for our animals)

If you mean apart from the obvious (My family & Myself) then it would be our photos, as everything else can be replaced.

You can never go back in time & re create those images

I would save my passport as it is one of the most important document i have presently.

(ANS) The problem I have with questions like this is that your assuming that you will have an entirely rational reaction to your house burning down and so will be able to make a logical calm decision about what matters most to you in that event. And therefore what to save!

NOTE: Sadly, life & reality are nothing like this, if your house was burning down you would be a) in a state of shock and b) would NOT be able to think rationally and c) your would be far more concerned about survival i.e. your own life or the life of others.

**Material objects are largely NOT that important and can frequently be replaced anyway.

**YES! OK I accept we tend to have attachments (i.e. sentimental attachments) to things or objects such as photos which cannot be replaced and those things that might get lost in a fire will just have to be grieved over.

**Death is precisely the same, even if a person has been sick in hospital when they die its a horrible shock in the actual event. Nobody knows how they will react when someone they know dies. You can talk about it to the cows come home but the actual event has a completely different emotional reality to it. You cannot know how you will react or feel in advance, we cannot know the future or what will happen to us.
