  1. i try to tell them the truth and that is not a word that they need to use .

  2. Tell them and explain why it's bad and make sure they understand NOT to use it.

  3. I tell him that I made a mistake and that cussing is a poor way of expressing myself.

I don't say what the word means.

  4. the truth.

That it is a bad word and that you were wrong to use it and will try not to say it again because it made you sound stupid and look ugly.

  5. I'll apologise for saying it, tell them that I shouldn't have said it and neither should they, and that I'm a naughty mummy or something like that, considering that they must be pretty young. I'll maybe tell them to slap my wrist or something and make a little joke of it, but then at least they'll know that it's bad to say it.

Then, I'll explain. "It's used when you're angry at someone, not that you should use it etc. etc." It would be tempting to lie and say "oh, it's just another word for 'daddy'" but then I dread to think of what they'd go saying in a day-to-day situation...

  6. "It's a bad word and daddy/mommy shouldn't have said it." End of conversation. DH and I both replied the same way to this.

  7. Tell him it is grown up word and he will find out when he grows up

  8. Ugh. Such is the adult life, huh?

Someone almost crashed into us on the road the other day, then flipped ME off. I muttered a**hole, and kept driving. My 6 year old went "Ahhhhh Mommy said a bad word" I apologized. Said I shouldn't have said that, that was wrong. She said , "What's that mean anyway?" I told her it was when someone does something that could've hurt you and they aren't even sorry about it, but that we shouldn't actually say it.

  9. Tell him it's an adult's word and he must not use it.

  10. you tell him

dont worry about it, you're too young to understand.

  11. you'll understand when you're older
