  1. Yes, I would take her or him on a shopping spree and then out to eat pizza!

  2. Research actually shows that rewarding children and adults results in lower performance.  Here is some info for you:

  3. Yes you should.... Each time my son makes the honor roll he gets a day off of school it's only 3 days a year and he loves it...

  4. Always. I reward good behaviour.

My 7yo got the best report card last year. I was so proud. On his pip test he had the second highest result in his year at his school.

He wanted his Dad to come home, so I asked Husband to come home early for a surprise! He loved it.

My Husband works away for long periods of time, and we all miss him. It was so special to see his face when he got out of school and Dad was there. Still makes me teary.

  5. All 3 of my boys scored in the Top 10 in the STATE! I took them out for a special dinner and a movie just to say I am proud of them.

  6. That's really great for your kid, make sure they know this is something to be proud of. :]

Let the reward fit the child. If they wanted a dollar raise on their allowance, if they wanted a new toy...etc. Good luck!

  7. I honestly wouldn't do anything different. I care how HE is doing and if he is doing the best he can. If he is doing his best work then that is what we celebrate. I don't care how he does in comparison to the other kids.

  8. Maybe a nice dinner out with the family, but nothing extravagant.

  9. I got the Presidential Education award Last year(I was 11 1/2) at my fifth grade promotion. My mom almost broke into tears and personally that is enough for me. Just to have my parents proud of me. (only 10 out of 130 students recieved this award). Then l8r on she took me to my favorite resteraunt. So i would say do something little for him/her just to say "U work hard and i am proud of u". This way he/she feels good that they did something good. If this makes sense

  10. Yes I would.  It means he's striving.  God bless.

  11. Yes, why not? I don't understand why some kids are punished for getting bad grades but not rewarded for getting good grades. I might get my daughter a new Webkinz that she has been wanting for a while, maybe let her pick her favorite place to eat, maybe extend her computer time, etc., etc.

  12. Well, YES!!! You should take (S)HE out to eat or out to the mall or something (S)HE really likes!!!!!!!!!
