  1. If it because of a ticket you got in Iowa with a Maryland license it means you won't be able to legally drive in Iowa.  Maryland will suspend only if the violation in Iowa was one of these:
        * Alcohol or drug related offenses;
        * Leaving the scene of a personal injury accident;
        * Homicide or manslaughter involving a vehicle;
        * Use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony.

    Iowa will put you in the NDR (national database states use and check when they issue or renew a drivers license).  If your Maryland license expires or if you lose it during the suspension period in Iowa you will have problems.  You will have problems when the Maryland MVA does a check in the NDR before issuing you a new license.  Don't lose your Maryland drivers license and make sure the Iowa suspension is taken care of before you renew your Maryland drivers license.
