If your luggage bage is over 70 pounds how much do you pay extra?

I know that it's suppost to be 50 but if it's 70, how much do you pay?

  2. Depends on your airline. Just go to their website, and look through their menu for 'luggage', and you'll find the information. A common price for extra pounds would be around $50 in my experience.

  3. As far as I know, you will not be able to check your bag in if it's over 70lbs. Most airlines allow you to pay excess if your bag is over 50lbs up to 70lbs. But above 70 is a safety factor (for the backs of the baggage handlers I think).

    I've checked in many bags of up to 71 or 72lbs (they'll let you get away with one or two pounds), but for sure, all the airlines I've flown on won't let you check in a 75lb bag.

    Check your individual airline for specifics.

    You DO NOT want to find out at the airport that they won't let you check in your suitcase.
