  1. I am giving each seat a tree sapling.

At first it's like what? but seriously, think about it. A gift that could live hundreds of years.

This site customizes the packaging to say whatever you want.

"plant in honor of our wedding... blah blah...

Just make sure you pick trees that will live in your climate!!

PS* the tube the tree comes in then converts into a bird feeder!

  2. we did scratch off lottery tickets

  3. I was a singer at a wedding one time where they had a favor table on the way out- the wedding colors were blue, and the favors were little bags (in mesh) of m&ms, in different shades of blue. The bages were tied at the top by white ribbons. Very cute (and cheap)!

p.s. an added bonus is that you/ the wedding party gets to eat the extras.

  4. I am not married yet but have been searching for favor ideas myself since my wedding is next June. I found some cool martha stewart kits at micheals for favor boxes that you can put candy in. Also a cool idea I found if you are crafty is to make small glycerin soap bars with toy engagement rings embedded inside. I like the idea of glass bowls with flowers and floating candles as well.  Bubbles decorated with ribbon and your names for the guest to blow at you for your departure instead of throwing rice.  My parents did chocolate bars and wrapped them with pretty paper that said their names and the wedding date.  I have heard of people burning cd's with some of the songs from their wedding or songs that represent their relationship.  There are endless of ideas in the wedding section of barnes and noble where I have been going almost everyday to read the books since i dont want to buy them.

  5. I wanted something a little different too because I wanted my favors to be the centerpieces since I don't like flowers much.  So I found these cute globe tealight holders at Crate & Barrel for $4 each.  I put rocks in my wedding colors in each globe.  So those were the favors.  I also added a glass fishbowl with black rocks and floated a flower to the middle of the table to add some more color.  I got the glass fishbowls and all the rocks at the Dollar Tree for a dollar each.  I had 17 tables and 130 guests so I spent just at $500 for the favors (but the doubled as the centerpieces).  I only bought 100 tealight holders because I knew not everyone would take one home (I was very right! We still had about 30 left).  Everyone thought they were really cute and said they were going to use them in their house.  I really hate when you get a favor that has the bride and groom's names or date on them because then they aren't very useful to anyone else.

  6. I think I will go for bottle stopper that comes in a heart shape :)

  7. We did fortune cookies in chinese takeout boxes. I went to a local chinese restaraunt and bought a box of 500 takeouts for $30. Then I ordered fortune cookies online with my own love saying in them. We stuffed the boxes with the cookie and tied a ribbon around it with a tag that said thank you on one side and our names on the other. We placed one at each place setting. In the end they turned out to be less than $1 a piece and we made 260 of them. Our guests loved them!

  8. I am using this little online store I just found, www.mwdkrafts.com.  This link will get you to the online store. I spoke to the owner and she is willing to work with you on ideals, just not what she has on online. Very simple and good prices!

    Best of Luck!

  9. you could put   a cd of your favorite songs (you and hubby) so your guests will share them with you. or pictures.

  10. I am getting married in just over 4 months.  My future MIL is making heart-shaped wedding cookies.  It's a tradition in my fiance's family.  Since over half our guest list is his family, they will really like it.  She is going to put the cookies in ivory boxes with claret (dark red) ribbon with our names on it.  I was so glad when she offered this because I had no idea what to do for favors.

  11. Trail mix that said "Happy trails" and caramel apples.  We made them up with supplies from Sam's for about $100 for 100 guests.

Can you give us some more info such as your time of year, theme, budget for the favors, etc...

  12. Sorry but we went with the traditional. Little nets of 5 almonds + small favor boxes of cookies.

At other weddings we've received a small triangular tea box, a custom-made CD of love songs, chocolate covered cherries, a small heart-shaped votive candle.  I always liked the food favors.  I don't need any more junky little do-dads.

  13. We did 375 ml bottles of red and white wine (the 375 ml bottles hold about a glass of wine in each bottle). The local winery that we purchased them from was able to do custom labels for us. We paid about 90.00/case, there was 24 bottles to a case.

If you want to do the sugar almonds, check out this site
