As in would you get over the fact that she hasn't made you feel loved. You can see that the reason she has given you things is because she is trying to show you she loves you without physically showing it, so do you just accept that that is her way of showing her love? Do you take that money and feel that you deserve it because she hasn't done much else for you in your life? If you cannot tell I am confused of my feelings for my mum, I feel like she doesn't care, and I get angry that she doesnt show love to my daughter either, but then I feel guilty because she gave me all that money, do I still have a right to be disappointed in her?

  1. yeah, my dad has done the same.  Money does not make up for actual affection.  however, it's could be the only thing she feels like she can do at this point.  That's how it seems with my dad.  So if you take the money, it makes her feel better.   I suggest keeping it, not out of spite or revenge, but just use it in a nonselfish way, like to support your daugther for college, and things like that.     You can still be disappointed in your mom, but she'll know you haven't completely pushed her out of your life.  I think that's what she really wants.  She probably knows she could have been a more affectionate mother, but she doesn't want you to hate her, which she might think if you don't accept the money.  She then might think you've shut her out of your life completely and don't even love her at all anymore.   But after this, if she keeps trying to give you money, let her know that's not what you want.
