  1. No.  This is Bullsh*t.  There is no such thing as BTA or any othe type of money needed.  Besides if it were a requirement of the USA, they wouldn't check it until arrival in the USA - think about it: why would Nigerian authorities check for US American requirements, they really don't care.

My girlfriend from Nigeria has visited me in various countries including Germany, France and the Philippines (more than 10 trips total) and she usually had between $50 and $100 in her pocket when leaving, and nobody ever checked to see how much cash she had.  Anyone whom you don't know very well that asks you to send them money is up to no good.

Some of the other answerers are mentioning maximum limits and stuff.  There may be a MAXIMUM you are allowed to bring in or out of a country, but there is no MINIMUM required to leave Nigeria, neither for foreigners nor for Nigerians.  I lived there for 3 1/2 years and travelled in & out frequently - there is no such thing as a minimum.

And yes, YOU or the person travelling will of course need funds, but again there is no minimum set by any government agency.  Scam, scam, scam.

  2. YES oo...there is a certain amount that is needed

because you need it for accommodation, food and etc

  3. i dont understand this question

  4. Cash gets you ANYWHERE!!

  5. The question is confusing here.

Yes, you need cash or at least enough credit on your cards for your flight, transportation and accommodations. This is true wherever you go.

As for if the Nigerian authorities will check you for cash on you when you depart ***., they may ask - one, for notable reasons the Nigerian officials are in habit of; and two, there are limits on how much cash you can carry into a country. The US customs will also ask when you arrive. If you are unsure on the limits that is allowed in cash, check with the US customs office or the embassy. You do have to declare the items you are bringing in on customs.
