  1. yes, health books state that using q-tips is dangerous and can push bacteria and debris deep into the ear

popular opinion says to allow water from your shower or bath into the ear

  2. Our doctor told us to never use QTips in your ears because they push stuff like wax down farther in your ear canal. I'm sorry, but we still do it.

  3. There is a very well known saying "Never put anything smaller than your elbow into your ears!"

Your ear-canal itself is self-cleansing and you should not insert cotton buds into this space at all.

Cotton buds are for cleaning the outer ear crevices, which are awkward to reach with say, a facecloth.

  4. i use my finger....mmmmmmmm tasty!!

    i also like eye boogers

  5. A bulb syringe like Murine ear kit or a hand towel. Sticking anything in your ear is a bad thing. If wax accumulates and you can't get it out, your primary care doctor can do an ear lavage.

  6. Um..your suppose to use cotton swabs..it just means not to put it in too far...,,,,

  7. Get an eye dropper and use that with either rubbing alcohol just 3 drops at a time or hydrogen peroxice with some warm water, just 3 drops at a time, maybe 2-3 times a week.

  8. Swabbing out the wax can irritate or injure the delicate lining of the ear canal, causing itchiness or bleeding and increasing the risk of ear infection. If you have lots of wax, swabs can push it deeper into the ear canal, where it compacts and hardens. That can cause hearing loss, dizziness, or pain. Moreover, poking anything into your ear canal can damage the eardrum. Actually, most people don't need to clean out the wax, which gradually works its way out of the ear on its own. If it does become necessary to remove it, use ear drops such as carbamide peroxide (Debrox Drops,E.R.O. Drops), or try the following home recipe:Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in 2 ounces of warm water and pour into a dropper bottle. Use a few drops twice a day for up to a week, and discard any leftover solution. ( Don't use ear drops if you have a perforated eardrum or are prone to ear infections.) And good luck.
