  1. i  didnt allow my daughter to date till she left home at 20

  2. No. Whole generations of kids grew up that way. We were smart and didn't get STD's or unwanted pregnancies.

  3. At the age of seventeen, children make up their own minds.

  4. My parents gave me at least some info about safe s*x and dangers of AIDS.

  5. Ask my two kids

    Blue Collar for McCain/Palin

  6. I think the liberals in here bashing on Palin still haven't had s*x and are mad her daughter did.

  7. My mom was a dumb*ss. She talked about saving it for marriage ONE time when I was like twelve. It was coupled with the "maxi-pad talk". She even cried during the talk.

This only made me more resolved to keep it from her when I started having teenage s*x. It made it so I absolutely could not bring myself to ask her questions or open up to her in any way.

  8. In my experience talking to your children about all of the issues, and letting them form there own opinions has worked very very well.

  9. Actually that is how I was raised.  I was a virgin until I was engaged at 21.  I did tell my mom after my first time.   I did  not get pregnant until I was married. But  I am pro-choice and a Democrat for McCain.

  10. My parents didn't even know I was having s*x until I came clean at 6 months pregnant.  They both cried for a minute or two.  Then we all sat down and planned out the rest of my life with my child.  They stood behind me and that is all that matters.

Now my daughter is 16 and I hope that everything I have taught her helps her make the right decisions about s*x, drugs, and drinking.  I can not be with her 27/7, but no matter what I will love and stand beside her.

  11. EXACTLY

    I agree 100%

Which is why we should teach s*x education in school so kids know how and where to get birth control and how to use and so they don't feel ashamed or guilty about getting it, or wanting to have s*x or have unwanted pregnancies and STDs.

  12. I am 22, male, and a virgin by choice.

Abstinence is 100% guaranteed to prevent STDs, pregnancy, and emotional attachment with people you are not married to.

  13. A good parent gives their children knowledge and reason to make the right choices.    That way, if the kid decides to do the wrong thing....as all children do to varying levels.....they know what they are getting into.

The fact that Sarah Palin's kid has a baby coming is the very direct EFFECT of a a very clear CAUSE.    What caused it is Sarah's extremist views against contraceptives and teaching kids the facts about sexual education (rather than abstinence only).

The moment this child had some freedom she did what any misinformed person will do.  She made a bad decision.  She rebelled, probably in some attempt to get the attention her busy parents didn't give her and did it in a reckless manner.

Now her life is weighted down, and she's bound for a marriage that will likely be a disaster, all before the age of 18.

  14. Children will never listen to their parents.

  15. Well, when your mother is a governor and you know that being pregnant as a teen will ruin her reputation, then you obviously listen

  16. If her mother had it her way, birth control wouldn't be available to teens without parental permission.  You'd be hard pressed to find a teen who even knew what birth control is under her very strict no s*x ed beliefs.

  17. Many won't - but then, many others will. Right now, nobody listens. It's not realistic to eliminate teen pregnancies. There will always be deviants who do the opposite of what they're told. The aim is to get the reasonable people out there to heed the message. : )

  18. Exactly! And all the more reason to educate the kids on the dangers of having premarital---and especially unprotected--s*x. Until folks realize the "urge to merge" is biological, and preaching abstinence doesn't work, we will continue to have the kinds of situations that the palins are experiencing today. Quite frankly, on the matters of s*x education, the right is wrong.

  19. It is funny how the Obama supporters are (in majority) young people under 30 (they say) But yet they forget their teen years of yesterday!

I remember being a teen, I had s*x, went to parties tried a cigarette drank beer, skipped school.

How much of it stuck with me, I guess not much since I served my country, became a teacher for a profession and have raised children.  Now I have teens of my own, and I can relate to them.  I give them the same speeches (with a twist)that my parents gave me.
