For instance, say you have your shower when you are 8 months pregnant and your baby turns out to be 2-3 weeks sooner than due date anticipated.

  1. I would definately do that!  A nice thank you card detailing a specific present which you were grateful for with a little pic of the new baby is just perfect!

    Good luck!

  2. id say yes, i think it would be cute to recieve a thank you with a picture and info of the baby i just bought things for! id do it!

  3. If you didn't get thank you notes mailed prior to the birth of the baby, definitely combine it with the birth announcement.  People will totally understand that new parents are very busy!  They will be glad to see the birth announcement.

  4. Oh ya for sure ... you just had a little one and you dont' need to right a million cards ... DO THEM TOGETHER ...

  5. I would do them seperatley. You can get thank you cards and announcement cards pretty cheap these days.  Good luck!! I am also a few week s away from giving birth.

  6. I would actually think that people would appreciate that.  Not everyone does birth announcements anymore.  I would hand write my thank you cards and make the birth announcement something smaller that fits inside the Thank You card and definitely has a picture. In my head, I am picturing one of those fake baseball cards - you know, it has the baby's pic on one side and the birth stats on the other.

  7. y not?? just make sure the thank you cards are hand written to add some personal touch

  8. Sure why not.  People understand a mom is under alot of stress right after a baby is born.  I would combine them.  Most people don't even send either.

  9. I would do them seperate. People spent a lot of money, and time to go to your shower and get you presents, so I would show them how much you care by doing them seperate. This is my opinion, its what i did!

  10. etiquette probably says to do them separate, but i would do them together...cards, time, and stamps are precious and expensive!!!! at my shower, i opened each gift and card, and said "Thank You, ________. I'll be able to use this for such and such" to their face. if the person was not at the shower, i sent a card. those little southern ladies could probably kill me, but i love an in person thank as opposed to a card!!!!

  11. Save yourself some time, energy and money and just do them together.  There is no real reason to do two separate mailings...

  12. As long as you actually write a handwritten thank you on the card, sure.  Save a little postage.

  13. Yes, combine them. Everybody will understand that with a newborn you won't be able to write two mailings.

  14. Sure! Nothing wrong with that at all! You can use that extra money you save on postage and grab a box of wipes! :) I think it's a great idea!

  15. Sure why not! Just make sure to hand write them and thank them personally for the gift! I think thats a great idea actually! Then they get to see who it is they bought their gift for!!! How Sweet!!
