  1. 27 years of dedicated service to the Cubs, I'd say I have a good shot.  Although I think every Cubs fan that has stuck by the team for so long without seeing a championship would deserve to be inducted.

I'd want my plaque to say, "dedicated Cubs fan, stuck by his team through thick and thin, good times and bad.  He was the meaning of a true fan."

  2. Ive been a fan for about 10 years now id say so maybe in another 20 or so.....i think its gotta be about 30 years of liking them

  3. No I wouldn't....at least not yet. I just became a baseball fan and a Yankee fan a year or so ago...

  4. Not yet but I'd like to think of myself as a future Hall of Famer.  :)

  5. Probably.

    My plaque would say:

    Holly (last name)

A dedicated Red Sox fan since 1978 at the tender age of 5.

A fan who stood by her team during the high's of recent years, and the lows of yesteryear(the 80's)

I'd put my nana there first, she was a Sox fan her whole life, and the reason I am. *that and we're from Massachusetts*

  6. If the Texas Rangers had one for teens...h**l yea i'd make it.even since i moved 2 mansfield, tx in 2000 i've loved the rangers good or bad.their games are so exciting whether you're at your house or the stadium.going to the stadium feels like home.maybe i can go to the yankees-rangers game on wednesday.

  7. I think I have a good shot.

And the plaque would probably read: "Mel (last name), proud fan of the New York Yankees for 29 years (as of today). Rooted for the team through the dark period of the 1980s, stood by Dave Winfield, Roy Smalley, Mike Pagliarulo, Rick Cerone, Alvaro Espinoza and others. Stayed loyal even when he left the borders of New York City. Owner of at least 10 Yankees T-shirts, seven Yankees caps, and watches team religiously through the summer and fall. Is still mad that Dave Winfield went into the Hall of Fame as a Padre. Will defend the Interlocking NY before any and all challengers, including the miscreants who wear Red Sox, Mets and Indians gear. True to his native city and true to his team. Will be buried with a Yankees cap in his casket.

  8. Sorry, but this is stupid...

  9. I have been a Red Sox fan in NYC for over forty years putting uo with a lot of abuse from some rather fickle Yankee fans who only seem to surface when their team is doing well.

If not the hall of Fame, I at least deserve combat pay.

    On my Plaque?

Began as a fan when the team was bad.

Stuck with them through a lot of bad years.

Had his heart broken at least a dozen times.

Dedicated to the memory of Tony Conigliaro

  10. yes because i have stood behind them at their worst and plus i've been to a lot of there games so basically payed for some of there players salaries.

  11. I don't think so, unless:

    1. Your family/generation watched games since your favorite team was incepted.

    2.  The stadium front office knows you by 1st name and you get invitations to All Star Game/Playoff/World Series festivities, games and team community events.

    3.  You or your family/business had season tickets since the beginning of time.

    4.  You are invited to hang out inside the locker room anytime you feel like.

    5.  The team's players from minor leaguers to the majors know you on a 1st name basis.

    6.  They feature you inside the team's newsletters and official magazine as a "lifetime fan".

These qualities should be enough for "induction" into a team's "Fan Hall of Fame", because I met one such fan inside the locker room of the SF Giants.  She has since passed away, but she had all of those qualities and "perks" given to her by the SF Giants from the time they moved to SF from NYC.

Even though I have season tickets to both the SF Giants and Oakland A's home games, have purchased only authentic official MLB apparel and memorabilia, have open access to both locker rooms, have watched both teams since the early 70's and have attended all AS Game/Playoff/World Series events and games in the SF Bay Area since 1971, I don't consider myself to be part of any induction ceremony to the HOF of any baseball team.  I'm just a plain old fan who loves the sport and believe only true fans with those qualities above should enter.

  12. If you brag about how big of a fan you think you are, you probably aren't a good fan.
