  1. I have sat hospice enough to know that I could not do it.  I can however push the morphine drip more often than suggested and hold them close right up to the very end.

  2. well that is a very hard decision to make. I watched my father suffer for months with lung cancer and chemotherapy for it. The cancer was so well spread and inoperable that it was terminal  and there was no hope of survival. If he had asked me then to help him die I couldn't have done, even though I know that would have been selfish with the horrible life he was having. When it came time and he was intubated and pulled it out though. the Doctors asked us if we wanted to take him off life support, I had to make that decision, it was the hardest most painful choice I ever had to make, but I knew keeping him going by machine was not living and he would not have any viable chance at life. So I chose to keep him off and no to resuscitate

  3. I couldn't do it without asking for mediacl advice; if they were psychotically depressed because of their illness they may not actually want to die, but need that treating instead.

However if they were of sound mind and asked me, I could put the pill into their hand but not into their mouth, do you know what I mean?

  4. i could never do that. i can't imagine having that on my mind for the rest of my life. i can bearly give the ok when i've had to have a pet euthenized....

  5. I'd have to refuse.

  6. I would get them a bong and share...

  7. Watching a loved one suffer is really really hard, even for nurses. There is pain meds available that can help with pain and I would make sure they had enough of them. I did suggest to my mom at one point that she smoke some pot to help with her nausea and if it hadn't stopped with the meds the doctor prescribed I would have gladly gotten her some.

  8. give them the phone number for jerry springer.. this way they can make money and leave me some

  9. my mother and i went through this when my grandmother was dying from cancer...

she wanted us to do something to help her out because she was in so much pain...

all we could do was make sure the nurses had plenty of painkillers on board to make her as comfortable as possible...

we sat by her bedside and the day she passed (on her own) were at ease knowing she wasnt hurting anymore...

sometimes i wish we couldve done more to help her but if it was legal to help end her life...i still dont think i couldve done it..

  10. heel to the skull , they are halfway there .....it would be really quick .

    OR

Take them out to  the woods during hunting season . Someone could lay on the horn or a minute while I shoot them . People would think it was a hunting accident  when they find the body and that Grandpa was out there making deer sounds, and its not like hunters have to sign a roster to be there. So there will be no proof !

  11. If they have seriously considered it,I would seriously consider it and talk to someone professional about it.

    otherwise...NO WAY.
