I'm visiting Zurich this summer, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but Surich is in the german-speaking region isn't it? If so I saw on a travel show that allot of people speak english there but it's considered polite to know some greeting in swiss-german. Can anyone maybe tell me a couple of greeting in swiss-german like how to say hello, thank you, and goodbye? I've always wanted to visit so I really would like to be as prepared as possible. Also I'd like to know what are some local attractions should I explore when I'm there? I'd love to hear any kind of info you guys can provide, thanks allot!

People in Zurich are really nice and know English so don't be afraid to use it.  The city is very big and has a nice lake to walk near during the evening.  Zurich has many fine attractions including Grossmunster, Opera House, Musse Suisse, Bahnhofstrasse, Kunsthaus Zurich.  I hope you have a blast in Zurich as I did.  Also don't forget the chocolate shops. :)

  3. The official language (for government and most  publications) is German; people mostly speak Swiss-German, which is different from High German.
