If the wheels on your skateboard are too tight, how do you loosen it?

  1. just use a 1/2 socket wrench or ratchet or an adjustable wrench

    and loosen the nuts on the axle of the trucks abit. you should tighten them all the way and then loosen them 1/4 - 3/4 of a turn.

    this way they will be loose enough for them to spin freely without wiggling back and forth to much.

    if you have offset wheels i dont think an adjustable wrench will work but a socket or ratchet should still

Loosten the nut that holds the wheels onto the trucks (axles).  The wheels should be able to move about 1/8", the nut shouldn't be tight against the wheel bearing.  If you have a cheap skateboard, it could be that you have poor bearings also.  But loostening the wheels to this amount will still help, they typically come FAR too tight when they're preassembled.  Not only will they not spin as fast tight, it also wears out the bearings faster.  You want the wheel to be able to spin both on the bearing race, and on the axle itself.
