Ignacio Fernandez-Lobbe expects Bath reaction
New Bath signing Ignacio Fernandez-Lobbe expects his side to take maximum points in their game against Aironi in the Heineken Cup.
The Argentine came on for his debut in last week’s narrow 12-11 defeat to French side Biarritz.
Fernandez-Lobbe believes that his new team-mates will be eager to react to the defeat with a positive result, away to Italian side Aironi.
"If we are mentally strong from the first minute, I don't see why we can't win the game playing good rugby...They will try to irritate us and not allow us to play the game we want to deliver."
Aironi captain Marco Bortolami believes that his side will prove to be a tough test for the Aviva Premiership side.
"We'll be ready for the challenge, and if they come and think they will have the easy life, that's where we can be really dangerous. We have to be ready and have to be at 100 percent in our game and structures," added the Italian international.
Aironi was comprehensively beaten 30-6 by Ulster in their first match in the Heineken Cup, but the Italian side will be in a different proposition at home.
In the Magners League, the team proved that they can be competitive at home, and that they were unlucky to lose to Edinburgh and Ulster.
Bortolami believes that his side will continue to improve and said, "Our game plan is getting better, but because we're a new team and it's not just a couple of players, we have changed from last season. We have to gel together and that takes time.”
Bath will go into the game as favourites. They need to win and get a bonus point if they are to have a realistic chance of winning the group.
Fernandez-Lobbe hopes that he can record his first win for his new club Bath, but Aironi plans to cause an upset.
