Ignasi Miquel determined to become a part of Arsenal’s first team – Premier League Update
Arsenal Youngster, Ignasi Miquel has gone on to admit that he wishes to become a part of the Arsenal starting eleven, over the course of the coming months.
The nineteen year old youngster was played as a left back against Manchester City in the Carling Cup and with him being a natural centre back, he admitted to being a little uncomfortable in the game. However, despite that fact, the player was more than happy

The defender was asked to fill in at the left back role, mainly due to the injuries to the Gunners full-backs and with no replacement being available to the team as yet.
Miquel, when talking about the opportunity that he was presented with, is quoted to have said: “I played left-back again and I'm not used to that. I have been injured for the last two weeks and so my fitness wasn't quite what it could have been either.
It was quite a hard game.”
The player then admitted that he would be more than willing to do it all again, if he is to be given another game in an Arsenal shirt.
“But if you get the chance to play for the first team you don't care where you play. I know this is a hard position for me to move from centre-back to left-back but if I get the chance I really don't mind.”
The player seems to be content with the way he performed in the game and believes there were some highs and lows in his performance. However, he is happy with himself and is only going to get better from here on out.
“I think there were some good things and some bad things in my performance overall. It was alright I think but obviously I wasn’t happy with the result in the end.”
Miquel then went on to express his delight with the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong and Coquelin, both starting for the Gunners in the Carling Cup, given how the trio had been playing for the reserves together, prior to the game.
The way Miquel played in the game against City was quite remarkable. Not only did the player manage to adapt to the new role that he was given, he went on to produce a near flawless performance.
Should he maintain this form for the Gunners, then it is safe to say that the nineteen year old will be given a number of call ups to the Gunners starting eleven in the near future.
