The Rossoneri have played one of the highest number of matches this season, a fact which their defender feels is the reason behind their recent slump in
form.
The Diavolo have had a torrid time with injuries as they have had many key players spend spells on the sidelines. According to a recently conducted study, the AC Milan
players have missed out on 218 matches in total through injuries. This statistic when compared with the team with the least number of injuries this season, Juventus, is more than five time. Juve have had their players lose out 40 matches due to injuries.
The difference is huge and Abate is of the opinion that the excessive number of injuries within the Milanello squad has led to their abysmal run of form. He feels that
his side are not physically sharp.
This physical sharpness came into question in the match against Fiorentina, where the Diavolo lost out to Fiorentina in the dying minutes of the match. The goal was scored
by the on-loan Juve striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381, who struck in the 89th minute to give his former team-mates much to be cheerful of.

Even http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stevan-Jovetic-c34163, the Viola playmakers, has come out and stated that the Viola were not competing with the best AC Milan side; he felt that they were exhausted.
Abate further carried on to state:
"The suspensions and injuries take their toll and there will not be many [players] available for selection against Chievo. We’ll have to keep on fighting all the
same, though. It’s a difficult moment for us.”
However, the Rossoneri defender also stressed that they needed to increase the intensity in their game if they are to make sure that they keep the dream of retaining the
Scudetto alive. The blonde-haired stopper was of the opinion that there was still a lot of time left till the end of the season.

He further said:
"We’re not playing as well as we can. But we’re not going to cry about it. There are a lot of games left and things will turn our way again. We have to try and not make
any mistakes in these last games.”
Milan take on Chievo in the matchday 32 fixture of the Serie A.
