  1. sounds like it could be your fuel pump, listen for the pump when you turn on the car but not cranking , it should run for about 5-10 seconds,it could just be a bad connection at the tank, when you slam the trunk it jars the pump. try tapping (use a rubber mallet or board) on just the tank and see if it starts .Good Luck!

  2. Sounds like your neutral safety switch is going bad or needs adjusting. The NS switch prevents you from starting the car unless it's in the Park or Neutral position for an automatic transmission or if the clutch pedal is not fully depressed for a manual trans. Try moving the shifter or placing it in neutral while trying to start if it's an automatic or move the clutch pedal a little if it's a manual. The trunk lid issue may not be related.

  3. id buy a new trunk.  j/k,  sounds like a fuel pump module wiring fault.

  4. Lift the hood.  Have someone try starting.  If it does not start, hold the key in the start position, place you ear close to the battery.  If you hear a sizzling sound, it means the terminals need cleaning.
